Dr. Melissa Dickinson is originally from West Dundee, Illinois. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Illinois Veterinary School in 2002.
With a passion for integrative medicine, Dr. Dickinson has special interests in acupuncture, homeopathy, pet nutrition, exotic animal care, behavior, and soft tissue surgery. She finds the most fulfillment in educating pet owners about preventative and holistic approaches to veterinary care.
Inspired by her great-grandfather, a large animal veterinarian in the Indianapolis area, Dr. Dickinson knew from an early age that she wanted to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.
She shares her home with Kyro, a loving and playful 3-year-old shepherd mix. In her free time, she enjoys making dream catchers, writing children’s books, horseback riding, and bird watching.
