Dr. Steve Nichols, Veterinarian

Dr. Steve Nichols

Practicing veterinary medicine in the greater Indianapolis area since 1991, Dr. Steve has assisted a countless number of canines, feline and equine patients in re-establishing and maintaining their best health. By the time he was nine, Dr. Steve knew veterinary medicine would be his profession. Support from family, teachers, friends and practicing veterinarians helped him accomplish his career goal.

After a positive personal experience with acupuncture, Dr. Steve became intrigued about the possibilities of how this approach might benefit his veterinary patients. Dr. Steve made the commitment to add acupuncture to his practice and achieved his CVA (Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist) through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS.) IVAS has established a rigorous course, testing and internship requirements to obtain certification. He followed up this certification with Advanced Courses in acupuncture for horses and small animals at the Chi Institute in Florida. Acupuncture was just the beginning, a lifelong learner, Dr. Steve continues to seek out new approaches to benefit his patients. Being able to provide a varied blend of therapies has been extremely rewarding to Dr. Steve and his clients and has changed the way Dr. Steve sees treatment options for his patients.

Dr. Steve and his wife Katie call a small farm in Boone County home. They have 3 dogs, 3 cats, 2 Dutch Warmblood horses, and 2 miniature donkeys.
